Mac Problems Need Real Diagnostics
We repair MacBooks, iMacs, Mac minis, and other Apple computers with careful diagnostics, board-level capability when practical, and honest repair recommendations.
We test the actual hardware before recommending parts or full board replacement.
Independent repair shop. Bring it in and we will tell you what failed, what it takes to fix it, and whether the repair makes sense.
No guesswork. No unnecessary repairs.
Apple Devices Fail in Specific Ways
Mac failures can come from batteries, screens, storage, charging circuits, liquid damage, software corruption, thermal issues, or board-level faults. We inspect the whole device before recommending a repair.
MacBook hardware checks
We inspect battery health, charging behavior, keyboard, trackpad, display, hinges, ports, storage, and board symptoms.
iMac and desktop Mac diagnostics
We check power, display behavior, storage, thermals, startup issues, performance problems, and internal component failures.
Liquid damage inspection
We inspect for corrosion, residue, keyboard damage, connector damage, board-level faults, and hidden spill-related issues.
macOS and data checks
We check startup problems, macOS corruption, user data risk, storage health, and backup or migration options.
How this works
Get it to us
Drop it off, mail it in, schedule service, or request pickup and delivery.
We diagnose it
We inspect the device, run hardware and software diagnostics when applicable, isolate the issue, and explain what we found.
You approve the repair
We review pricing, parts, timing, and whether repair makes sense before moving forward.
We repair and verify
We complete the repair, test the device, and confirm it is ready before return.
Pickup and delivery is available to anyone within 15 miles of our office for a $50 pickup/delivery fee. This is door pickup and drop-off only. If you need us to come inside, set up equipment, troubleshoot on-site, or perform any work at your location, it becomes an on-site service call with a 1-hour minimum at $200/hour.
Simple Mac repair pricing
Transparent pricing. No surprises after diagnosis.
MacBook Air, Pro, Retina, all generations.
Your $100 drop-off deposit is applied toward the $150 repair minimum if you approve the repair.
Final pricing depends on the Mac model, issue, parts availability, board condition, liquid damage, and repair complexity. Liquid damage diagnostics, board-level repair, and data recovery are quoted separately.
All iMac sizes and Intel or Apple Silicon models.
Your $100 drop-off deposit is applied toward the $200 labor if you approve the repair.
Final pricing depends on the Mac model, issue, parts availability, board condition, liquid damage, and repair complexity. Liquid damage diagnostics, board-level repair, and data recovery are quoted separately.
Final cost depends on the actual failure. We diagnose first.
$100 drop-off deposit
Paid at drop-off and credited toward your final repair. Not an extra fee when repair is approved.
MacBook
Deposit applies toward the $150 repair minimum. Covers diagnostic labor if repair is declined.
iMac
Deposit applies toward the $200 labor. If repair is declined after diagnosis, an additional $50 diagnostic fee is due (iMac diagnostics are $150 total if declined).
- Applied toward the repair labor if approved
- Covers diagnostic labor if MacBook repair is declined
- iMac diagnostics are $150 total if declined
- Not an extra fee when repair is approved
- Liquid damage diagnostics use a separate $150 deposit
Repair timelines
Repair timelines depend on the issue, parts availability, current workload, and service level. Standard repairs enter the normal queue. Rush and emergency options may be available when timing matters.
Board-level Mac repair
Some Mac board failures can be repaired at component level, such as failed capacitors, resistors, fuses, charging components, connectors, or shorted components. Not every board is repairable, but when repair is practical, it may save money compared to full board replacement.
Liquid-damaged Mac?
Liquid-damaged Macs need real electronics diagnostics. We charge a $150 liquid damage diagnostic deposit, and that deposit applies toward the cost of service if you approve the repair. We clean, inspect, diagnose, and repair at the board level when possible.

Not all issues are obvious. Here is what we commonly find.
What actually fails on Macs
Not a generic checklist. These are the specific Mac failures we see on the bench every week.
Batteries
MacBook batteries can swell, fail, stop holding charge, or cause trackpad and frame pressure.
Charging circuits and ports
USB-C, MagSafe, charging ICs, adapters, cables, and board-level faults can all cause charging problems.
Screens and display cables
Cracked screens, backlight problems, flickering, lines, and no-display symptoms can come from the panel, cable, or board.
Keyboard and trackpad
Keys, trackpads, flex cables, liquid damage, and battery swelling can cause input problems.
Liquid damage and corrosion
Liquid can damage connectors, keyboard circuits, charging circuits, and motherboard components.
Storage and data issues
Failing storage, corruption, no-boot conditions, and data risk need careful handling before repair.
Thermal and performance issues
Dust, thermal paste, fan issues, runaway processes, and failing components can cause heat and slowdown.
Board-level component failure
Some Mac failures come from failed chips, capacitors, resistors, fuses, connectors, or shorted components.
What We Actually Test
Hardware and software checks tailored to the Mac in front of us.
Power and charging
Adapter, cable, port, battery, charging behavior, power rails, and board-level charging symptoms.
Battery and safety
Battery health, swelling, cycle behavior, frame pressure, and safety concerns.
Display system
LCD/OLED panel, display cable, backlight, external display behavior, and graphics symptoms.
Keyboard and trackpad
Input behavior, flex cables, liquid damage, stuck keys, ghost input, and trackpad pressure.
Storage and data
Drive health, macOS startup, data risk, backup status, and migration options.
macOS and software
Startup issues, updates, corruption, user profile problems, malware/adware, and performance problems.
Thermals and fans
Fan behavior, temperatures, dust buildup, throttling, and heat-related shutdowns.
Board behavior
Shorts, corrosion, failed components, connector damage, and intermittent board-level symptoms.
What Makes Us Different
Most shops replace parts. We repair the actual problem.
Independent Mac diagnostics
We do not assume the most expensive part is bad. We test before recommending repair.
Board-level capability
When practical, we can repair certain board-level failures instead of replacing an entire board.
Liquid damage experience
We clean, inspect, and diagnose spill-damaged Macs at the electronics level when possible.
Data-aware repair process
We consider data preservation before major repair, erase, reinstall, or migration work.
Repair verification
We test the Mac after repair instead of just checking whether it turns on once.
Honest repair advice
If repair does not make sense compared to replacement, we will tell you before you spend money unnecessarily.
